Idiocracy – 10/10

 

This movie did not get a fair chance. It was the funniest movie of 2006 but only 10 people got the pleasure of seeing it, and 6 of those people saw it over and over again until it slowly dropped out of one theatre after another, ending with a theatre in Texas and a theatre in LA running it all the way until November (there was actually a showing of it in December at midnight at a theatre in LA). It got such a limited release and absolutely no marketing. No wonder no one knew what it was (unless you are a huge fan of Mike Judge and/or Luke Wilson).

Every joke in this movie is pure gold. But it’s not a movie for people who are actually as dumb as the people this movie is making fun of which, as it turns out, must be everyone at Fox for not giving it a chance in hell. It’s now on DVD, and everyone should head right on over to Amazon or your local Best Buy and purchase a copy for yourself and everyone you know who can successfully get through the ABCs.
